Artistic Me: Pointillism PlateEnrichmentThere will be no paint brushes used in this class, but Q-tips! Using cotton swabs, kids will create their own pointillism drawings in the style of Georges Seurat on a 10” ceramic plate. In this class we will discuss the color wheel, how to make secondary colors by combining primary colors, and how to transfer a pattern onto ceramic. Bring your own picture!2026-27 -
Babysitting 101EnrichmentThis course is suited for students age 10 to 13 year-old interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. DNR Certified Youth Snowmobile Safety ClassEnrichmentCheck-in: 8:45 am. Parents or legal guardians must be present for check-in and are encouraged to attend at least the first hour of class. Class time: Begin at 9:00am. Once students have completed their road course and finalized paperwork they will be ready to be picked-up. We expect pick-up will be between 1-3pm. Requirements: Must be 11 years of age before class start date listed above and have completed the online course in order to be eligible to take this class. DNR online course can be taken at https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/safety/vehicle/snowmobile/index.html. We encourage all parents to help support safe riding practices. Parents are welcome to stay and participate and/or help during the safety class. Please be available to pick up your child when class is out. Things each attendee MUST bring to the class: · Lunch · Printed Snowmobile Voucher from MN DNR approved online courses. · Birth certificate, passport or state issued ID · Helmet that has a D.O.T rating and snowmobile approved shield or goggles that fit attendees head. · Warm clothes suitable for riding snowmobile outdoors. Appetites don’t stand a chance against the realistic Pizza drawing our students will create as they focus on proportion, detail, and shading techniques. Our adorable Baby Sloth will help students practice expression and character design, while our art history portrait of Hiawatha introduces cultural appreciation and portrait composition just in time to celebrate the fall season. Driver Education 2026 - Fall B (Oct-Nov)Drivers EducationWhen registering, complete students profile with their legal name as it appears on their Birth Certificate and confirm your child's birth date is accurate. You will also be asked to include the best email address you want the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) to send the Classroom Certificate Completion and the Behind the Wheel Certificate of Completion. Registration for Fall B class ends Monday, October 12 or when the class is full.The package fee includes 30 hours of in-person quality classroom instruction with a BHM teacher, ALL classroom materials and supplies and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with a licensed teacher you can trust. The classroom portion of the fee, $135, is non-refundable. Please check for schedule conflicts prior to registration. It is recommended students are age 15 by the last day of classroom instruction, or shortly thereafter, as this is the age the student needs to be to take the Written Knowledge Test. 30-hours of classroom instruction must be completed for the student to be issued the Classroom Certificate of Completion. Make-Up Session: One make-up session is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 3:40-6:40 pm at Buffalo High School with Mr. Gunderson if needed. Tardies and/or absence from one class need to be made-up. Students needing more than 3-hours of make-up time will need to retake classroom instruction and pay the $135 classroom fee. Note: Driver’s Education is not funded by the State of Minnesota, therefore, all costs must be incurred by the family upon registering.
